400 Young Entrepreneurs Invited to Invest in Banyuwangi

Liputan6.com, Surabaya – As a speaker at the Regional Young Entrepreneurs Association (HIPMI) East Java (Surabaya) in Surabaya, Banyuwangi Regent, Abdullah Azwar Anas invites young entrepreneurs in East Java to invest and travel in their area.

"Let's come to Banyuwangi, we have what other cities do not have, there's a Triangle Diamond, a blend of mountains, beaches and wilderness with incredible flora-fauna," he said on Saturday (13/09/2014).

He presented the development of Banyuwangi tourism in front of 400 young entrepreneurs from all over East Java. Not to forget, he also showcased pictures of the beauty of the Regency nicknamed 'The Sunrise of Java' such as Red Island Beach, Hijau Bay, Ijen Crater, to tourist events such as Banyuwangi Batik Festival, Banyuwangi Ethno Carnival, and Banyuwangi Jazz Festival.

"In Banyuwangi, we involve the local public to build tourism, such as home stay that utilize the homes of residents around tourist destinations," he added.

The number of visitors visiting Banyuwangi keeps increasing. In 2013, the number of domestic tourists visiting tourist attractions in Banyuwangi reached 1.057 million, an increase of 22 percent compared to 2012 of 860,831 people.

As for foreign tourists, his visit in 2013 amounted to 10,462 people, up 90.14 percent compared to 2012 amounted to 5,502 people. Based on independent survey, foreign tourist spending in Banyuwangi is Rp 2 million per day per person, so foreign tourists have foreign exchange of around Rp 52 billion.

"Now to Banyuwangi is easy, there are two airline flights every day from and to Banyuwangi, both from Denpasar and Surabaya," he said.

The youngest regent also promoted the mangosteen fruit and dragon fruit typical of Banyuwangi. Anas brings two packs of dragon fruit and mangosteen packed interesting.
