Walking alone in the middle of the 'urban forest' and feeling the beauty of the forest and the many wild animals, really made me feel like in a fairy tale. I 'went' to Central Park New York from Fifth Avenue. From Fifth Avenue I've felt 'stuffy and noisy'. With New York congestion, and a few cemeteries in hand and with camera, I wanted to 'stretch out' in the park.
If I walk alone in a city, I always look for a park to just sit after walking away. Central Park NY is, in fact I will not berl2 special, because my time a little. But, it turns out after I saw Central Park, I'd love to walk into the 'forest' …..
Central Park is a large public park in Manhattan, New York City. 3.41 km wide with 4 km long form, 800 m wide. Each year, the park is visited by about 25 million people, and at the same time the most visited park in the United States.
Extraordinary ! With 4 km x 800 m, New York can create a park that becomes' paru2 kota'.New York is famous for its crowded city with a lot of residents and is a city with individual residents. But by working with local governments, can create a green open space wide.
Residents in New York, willing to share for green open space, whereas, on the side, there are still high buildings and densely populated (apartments and hotels and offices2). They are very 'willing' and they do not want to 'fool' one with another to 'steal' the land to be a building …..
New Yorkers even share it with forest animals (in this case 'urban forest') and even Central Park is where migrants 'stay' before flying to other places ….. So what if we have 'urban forest' this big in Jakarta ….. Jakarta residents become healthy with 'paru2 kota' this big and Jakarta become beautiful).
Central Park is one of the most famous parks in the world, because this park is often used as the location of film and television coverage. The management is a non-profit private organization Central Park Conservancy contracted by the New York government.
You can imagine, if we are from the street Fifth Avenue with a vehicle that is crowded and humans who are too much and noisy, immediately met with a beautiful garden …..
On the north side, Central Park is bordered by West 100th Street (more commonly known as Central Park North), on the west side of Central Park West, on the south side with West 59th Street, and on the east side with Fifth Avenue. The road on the east side of the park is never referred to as "Central Park East", but rather Fifth Avenue. Around the park there are luxury buildings and are areas with high land prices.
From this path I entered Central Park. Unfortunately, there was no 'horse-drawn carriage' at that time. From high-rise buildings and motorized roads, we can go directly to Central Park Park. The park was designed by Frederick Law Olmsted and Calvert Vaux. Both are also known as the Prospect Garden designers in Brooklyn. Though natural, the landscape of Central Park is entirely the result of human intervention.
This park is indeed man-made. Since the 1800s these trees have grown and become 'urban forests'.
But more deeply, there are really good places like 'jungle'. Not like the photos above. More trees are allowed to grow without being pruned like the photos above. Not many who come to this place, because usually they (including me) do not come here, we can 'stray', especially this vast garden …..
Inside the park are artificial lakes and ponds, walkways, two ice skating rinks, wildlife reserves, lawns and playgrounds for children. Central Park is often visited by various migrant birds to become a favorite place for bird watchers. Also a lot of ducks that do not exist in Indonesia.
The overall length of the streets within the park is 10 km. Visitors crowded jogging, cycling, or skate, especially on weekends or since 19:00 after motor vehicles are prohibited from passing.
Actually, Park Park is not included in the Master Plan for New York's Manhattan area development. However, the number of New York City residents nearly doubled between 1821 and 1855, moreover now, the city is becoming increasingly crowded, and the inhabitants are pouring into the few open spaces available, especially to the cemeteries to distance themselves from the noise of the city.
While enjoying the park Central Park, we can see the towering buildings. Many residents cycled around the park. And many more are just sleeping while picnics, very inspiring to the inhabitants of New York City.
I saw a lot of squirrels / squirrels there. Types of squirrels, and I found 2 types of squirrels. The squirrels are not afraid of humans. I brought a little cake and nuts (I used to bring cakes and nuts to stomach up before I found a suitable place to eat).
In the 1800s, the need for open space for the citizens of the city benar2 must be made. The influential residents of New York City feel the need for a stylish garden to enjoy the fresh air while driving, like Bois de Boulognedi Paris or Hyde Park in London.
'Streetscape' in Central Park is really thought out and very comprehensive. 'Water feature' and the field to 'express yourself' (eg, bermantik berpantomim or biking) really makes us feel at home to stay longer here.
'Jogging track' exists throughout the park from the western end to the east end, from the north end to the southern end, though the material is different. Some 'jogging track' is made of asphalt, but more 'conblok'.Between 1860 and 1873, the construction of the park was almost complete. A total of 14,000 cubic meters of land was brought from New Jerseys as a substitute for inappropriate topsoil. When the construction was officially declared completed in 1873, more than the earth and rocks excavated from the park numbered about ten million carts, and had to be disposed of elsewhere. When opened, Central Park has about 4 million trees representing 1500 species.
Under the management of the New Government, progress is being made to restore Central Park as a property of the townspeople. Central Park Conservancy pays freelancers, and sets up small teams for restoration of buildings, starts horticultural projects and removes doodles.
'Bench' in this park uniform. And 'bench2' is a lot, almost along the 'jogging track'. Some of the 'bench' on the back is decorated with flowers.
With 1500 species of trees, there are many colored leaves, which do not exist in tropical countries like Indonesia. Usually the leaves are colored kunibg, red, orange and others. Aky there to fall into the fall, so many leaves are falling. He said, there in the spring, it would be beautiful …..
The restoration of Central Park followed a fundamental change in the field of management. After being rebuilt in the mid-1980s, Central Park now uses a zone system with a supervisor for each zone, with routine maintenance. The concept of "gardeners for each zone" was so successful that the whole park is now divided into 49 zones.
Each zone has a head that is responsible for daily maintenance. Gardeners in each zone oversee volunteer work. In 2007, the local government has spent a lot of money on park restoration and management, while about 85% of Central Park's annual budget comes from local government cash.
Several bridges are built here, to cross several small rivers or 'gorong2' to collect rainwater. These bridges are also nicely designed and comprehensive.
I walked in Central Park park for more than 3 hours. Day started the afternoon with the clouds hanging. Rushed I walked, looking for a taxi and headed for the hotel. Mini mala I want to watch Broadway, The Cat, hope I can get a ticket …..
