PT Bank Tabungan Negara Tbk (BTN) said that the company's share in Morgan Stanley Capital International (MSCI) Global Standard Index is a trust that must be maintained by improving financial performance. It is also believed to increase the interest of foreign investors to buy BBTN-coded shares.
"Before entering the MSCI, there are many foreign investors who become BTN shareholders, but the entry of BBTN in global index will certainly make more foreign investors interested in BTN shares," said BTN President Director Maryono in his statement in Jakarta on Monday (20 / 11/2017).
According to Maryono, the entry of BBTN's shares into MSCI Global Standard Index is inseparable from the company's positive financial performance and growth beyond the banking industry.
The performance has also made BBTN's share price jump from around Rp1,700 in early January 2017 to Rp2,980 at the close of trading late last week.
"We will maintain investor confidence by maintaining a positive growth performance, we will focus on the growing down and medium sized housing market and its potential to support the Jokowi government's one million house program," said Maryono.
The Indonesian Securities Analysts Association (AAEI) said that the entry of PT Bank Tabungan Negara Tbk (BTN) in the Morgan Stanley Capital International (MSCI) Global Standard Index list will increase the interest of foreign investors to buy BBTN coded shares.
"The achievement of BTN is certainly not easy, because not up to 100 issuers of Indonesia Stock Exchange which entered into MSCI Global Standard Index. This makes BBTN stock opportunities to be shooting investors both short and long term," said AAEI Chairman Haryajid Ramelan.
According to Haryajid, listed companies in the MSCI list will enter a global investment radar in which there are large investors such as pension funds, fund managers, private equity and hedge funds. By entering a global investment radar, local investors will usually follow the foreign step in buying shares of the issuer. This is an exciting opportunity for local investors to collect BBTN shares, "he explained.
