Human Dilemmas Concerning Global Warming Issues

The upcoming World Environment Day, 5th of June, really inspires me to make my posts on environmental issues. Increasingly triggered again by the tornado storm that hit Oklahoma, US, May 20th ago (Kompas), which is one result of global warming (PG). Moreover, I am educated in biology education and work in the field of industrial and domestic waste treatment. ***** The theme of global warming is actually a long time ago, even can be said to have been "stale", ie since the beginning of the 19th century (History of Climate Change Science). But even if it is stale, inevitably, like it or not, we must swallow it, because it concerns the survival of human life on this planet earth. A few years ago I have been seriously examining the issue of global warming, especially since the issue was massively published by Al Gore through his documentary The Inconvenient Truth (Link). Ironically the issue that he threw doubt by some circles scientists and environmental activists. I am impressed and deeply in agreement with the analogy given by Al Gore, that human consciousness is now about PG like a frog in a beaker glass filled with cold water, where the glass is on a gas stove that will gradually increase the water temperature . The frog feels the rising temperature of the water, but he does not come out of the erlenmeyer, until finally the frog can die when it reaches the boiling point of water. Likewise humans are aware of the rising temperature of the environment but do not do anything. The animated clip can be seen here, Rescue The Frog. [/ caption]

Yup, very dilemmatic indeed. On the one hand, humans are aware of this drastic climate change (research results coordinated by Past Global Changes (Pages) 2K Network say that the 20th century is the hottest century in the last 14 centuries.Compass), but on the other hand it is very difficult to change or improve change this climate, in the midst of debate and exacerbated by the conflict of interest politics and the international economy. For example, America, as one of the largest industrialized countries to contribute Green House Gases (GHG) emissions, rejects the Tokyo Protocol, a protocol that limits GHG emissions, because it can lead to disruption of the stability of the American economy. In this case, we can not just blame the developed countries who are reluctant to follow this protocol (Tempo), because after all the countries in the world have a role in this PG. If looking for who is wrong, in fact everything is guilty regardless of who is the most wrong ^^ Okay, if reviewed again the problem of this mistake is wrong, yes it's human own, who can not make industrial technology that is really environmentally friendly dominate the industry in this world. In fact, we are ironically "busy" to blame industries that pollute the environment with waste, when we use their products every day, such as cooking oil and clothing. How ironic is not it? While the industry, in general, actually do not want to damage the environment, it's just a dilemma because the cost they must spend to treat the waste is large enough, the amount that can disrupt financial stability. For example a palm oil mill (PKS). I have a friend who works as a PKS waste management staff, from his experience for almost 9 years, it can be said that almost no factory is really capable of processing its waste according to the standards set by the government. Nevertheless, this is where the role of environmental and governmental communities to "force" the industry to cultivate their waste as much as possible. In line with my friends' experience, I also discussed with a professor of environmental biology, he said that this problem is very complicated, requires a rigorous bureaucracy that also consider from the side of the industry, the role of society and the application of environmentally friendly technology. Okay, is this a matter of discourse reminding the importance of this PG issue? The Global Warming Issues Problem Thanks to the United Nations (UN), through institutions such as the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP), the PG-specific solutions agency, the Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) ), The Climate Reality Project, Green Peace, nature-loving organizations, environmental foundations and the like, are busy working institutionally. For those who can, let's help them with "donuts". We should also appreciate the famous figures who are active in overcoming environmental problems. Well, what about us individually? Especially those we are more preoccupied with problems
