Liputan6.com, Jakarta PT Perusahaan Gas Negara (Persero) Tbk (PGN) continues to expand its infrastructure network and utilization of natural gas to various regions. This time, PGN's safe, efficient and environmentally friendly natural gas is being enjoyed by a vermicelli factory in Cirebon, West Java.
"We have just supplied natural gas to PT Nusantara Top which produces food in the form of vermicelli and stone sugar," said Sales Area Head PGN Cirebon, Ade Sutisna, Friday (8/12/2017).
He said that PGN's natural gas has been flowing to the Nusantara Top factory since December 5, 2017. This gas is used for burner purposes. PGN allocates gas with a capacity of 1,001 – 1,000,000 cubic meters per month to this plant.
The owner of PT Nusantara Top, Ramlan, recounted that during this time his factory located in Luwung Village, Mundu District, Cirebon, using LPG and Solar as fuel.
"Our constraints at certain times, LPG is often rare and every month it must fill the solar tank," he said.
By switching to PGN gas piped through the pipeline, Ramlan hopes to secure supply and reduce production costs.
"We calculate, with natural gas saving cost could be 30-45%," he said.
Not only the economic benefits, Ramlan also predicted that the switching of fuel from LPG to natural gas can expand the factory land which has been used to store LPG cylinders.
"Our hope by switching to more efficient and clean energy and environmentally friendly, our production is increasing because empty land can be a storage location of products," he said.
